Andrew Kennedy was born in the North of England but has
lived most of his life in Sussex and Kent. After his school years he
joined the Blue Star line as an able seaman. During these years he was
greatly inspired the works of J. Spurling and W. L. Wyllie. Returning
from sea, in 1961, Andrew became a fellow of the Royal Society of Marine
Artists (R.S.M.A. no. 1709). His many and varied experiences of naval
life and later living and sailing on the River Medway all served to
further foster his great passion for marine art work. Painting in oils
and water colours Andrew made his living through his art work. Andrew
loves to recreate great scenes from the past - Victory at Trafalgar, The
Breaking of the Temeraire and of course The Titanic. His detailed
knowledge of naval history combined with his artistry has magnificently
captured many such scenes. He is available for commissioned work of all
varieties but especially in the area of marine art. He can be contacted
via the 'Enquiries' link below but first visit the galleries and sample
